My milano missionary

Saying good-bye was sweet. The tears were few because everyone is so happy for Tyler. He is such a great son. We told him that we have been so pleased with all of his accomplishments. He was a 4.0 student, valedictorian, Eagle Scout, Vally Waterpolo Champion. Buchanan High School record holder, He received the Bear award for Scholarship, Leadership, Integrity, Athletic Acomplishments, and Dedication, and he received countless swim awards in the district and valley. He has polished his musical abilities at the piano and received awards for his efforts with the saxaphone and bass clarinet. Yet, his greatest accomplishment to date is being called to serve in the Italy Milan mission. He will be an awesome missionary.

My milano Missionary

Tyler left of January 20th.  We took him to the airport at 4:30 in the morning.  His friends Taylor Mearns, Sami Mortimer, and cousin John Hales were also there.  They had portable speakers with a CD player and they were playing the hymns, "Till we meet again" and I'll go where you want me to go"  It made me laugh.  They were being serious, with smiles underneath.  Having them there was great because it helped lighten the mood for our 2 year goodbye.  As for me, it was easier to say good bye than I thought it would be.  As for Steve, it was much harder to say good bye than what he thought it be.  Tyler was so sweet.  When he saw the tears in my eyes he hugged me again and longer.  And after he hugged everyone else, he opened his arms for me to hug him again.  I cry just writing about it!!  As he walked away he turned around several times and stood and just waved.  We love him sooooo much.  And we do miss him!! Much more than when he was just away at school.
